Karo Wood Wins Ventspils Volleyball Championship | [Year]

In the sports hall “Pārventa”, the final games of the classic men’s volleyball championship of Ventspils city were concluded, in which the four best teams of the tournament fought for the championship title. The team “Karo Wood” became the 2025 Ventspils city champions.

In the first semi-final, ZS “Vālodzes” beat the SK Pope/Ventspils district team with a score of 3:1, securing a place in the final. In the second semi-final, “Karo Wood” demonstrated a convincing performance, defeating “Kurekss” 3-0.

In the bronze game, SK Pope/Ventspils region and “Kurekss” met each other. SK Pope/Ventspils district won with the result 3:1, winning the bronze medals of the championship.

“Karo Wood” and ZS “Vālodzes” met in the golden game for the championship title. The final match turned out to be very exciting and equal. “Karo Wood” volleyball players were superior in the first two sets, however, ZS “Vālodzes” did not give up and managed to win the third set, returning the intrigue to the fight for the title. The fourth set was particularly tense, in which the “Karo Wood” volleyball players proved to be more convincing in the decisive moments, winning the set and the whole game with the result 3:1, as well as the title of Ventspils city champion.

The Ventspils city volleyball championship is organized to popularize amateur volleyball in Ventspils, to promote sportsmanship and a healthy lifestyle, as well as to identify the city’s strongest teams.

The competition is organized by the volleyball club “Ventspils” with the support of the municipality of Ventspils.
