Judo Badges: DJA Awards at VSV Hohenbostel

The athletes of the VSV Hohenbostel judo group received awards for their sporting achievements at the youth competition of the German Judo Federation (DJB). The “Judo Safari” achievement badge is aimed at children up to 14 years old. The participants have to compete against each other in the three categories of athletics, budo and creativity and compete with each other in order to collect points. For the awards, the athletes had to show their endurance and strength in a track and field competition and demonstrate their skills in a judo section. Last year, the athletics part was again combined with the sports badge acceptance. The VSV is also looking forward to many DOSB sports badges in the judo division. In the Budo part, the young athletes competed in judo competitions and applied their technical skills in exciting duels.

The supervisors at VSV came up with something special for the creative part of the safari competition. There was a big Christmas creative activity in the sports hall with gym bags that the participants painted to match the theme. The reward was not only points for the judo safari, but also the self-painted gym bags. In recognition of this, the official performance badges for 2025 were awarded by the German Judo Federation at the last training session. A total of 34 safari awards from the German Judo Association are now sewn onto the suits. Coach Gerrit Rehberg is happy: “This year more children won a badge than last year. I’m pleased that we were able to raise the level again at this high level!
