Jr. Tournament, which was held for the first time in the 2022-23 season in partnership with BİDEV and NBA. NBA/Jr. WNBA Türkiye League is entering its 4th season by expanding to 6 cities across Türkiye in the 2025-26 season.
Within the scope of the extended contract; Jr. NBA/Jr.WNBA Turkish League will continue its activities in Türkiye in cooperation with the Basketball Support and Education Foundation (BİDEV) and the NBA.
The league, which was organized with the participation of Istanbul and Ankara last season, will increase to 6 cities in the 2025/26 season by adding Izmir, Bursa, Antalya and Mersin to these cities.
BİDEV Board Member Eyal Tarablus said: “We experience the excitement and excitement of spreading the love of basketball to our children more and more every year as we set out to organize Türkiye’s highest quality inter-school basketball league in cooperation with the NBA in 2022. In our first 3 years, we organized more than 600 Jr.NBA – BİDEV League matches with more than 200 school teams in total. More than 3,000 secondary school students in more than 100 halls, tens of thousands of students in our tournaments.” He took part as a player in front of his friends and family. In this period when the NBA is increasing its influence with the league organization it plans to establish in Europe, we welcomed the offer to extend our contract for another 4 years with great pleasure. We plan to spread the excitement of the Jr. NBA – BIDEV league, which we will live in 6 cities this year, to more cities in the coming years and to see a total of 10,000 children on the fields across Türkiye.
Basketball Excitement in 6 Big Cities
Jr. NBA – BİDEV Turkish League is divided into two as Marmara and Anatolia Regions in the 2025/26 season. In two leagues with 30 teams, where each school team receives a team name from the NBA, 10 schools each from Istanbul East, Istanbul West and Bursa will form the Marmara Region teams. 10 teams from Izmir, 10 from Ankara, 5 from Antalya and Mersin will constitute the Anatolian Regional teams. After the 4-team Regional Finals, the champion will be determined with the Türkiye Finals.
This long-running marathon, which started on October 3 with a total of 60 schools and nearly 1,000 young athletes, will end with the Türkiye Finals to be held in April 2026. In addition to the cup, the champion team will also receive the NBA’s traditional championship ring.
