João Pereira: 6 Games Unbeaten After Esgaio Win

Alanyaspor, coached by João Pereira and with Nuno Lima in the starting eleven, won in round 17 of the Turkish Super League. The Portuguese coach and defender’s team received and defeated Karagumruk, which included Ricardo Esgaio at the start, by 2-0.

The hosts took the lead in the 13th minute, thanks to a goal from Ui-jo Hwang. The Korean was also involved in the 2-0, serving Guven Yalcin, who scored, in the 58th minute, the second and last goal of the match.

Alanyaspor returned to winning ways in the championship, after three consecutive rounds of draws, against Samsunspor (1-1), Antalyaspor (0-0) and Kayserispor (0-0). It was the sixth consecutive game for João Pereira’s team without losing, since, in addition to these last four rounds of the championship, the team also played two rounds of the Turkish Cup, which they won, against Çorum (5-0) and Trabzonspor (1-0). Karagumruk, in turn, continues to sink into last place. The team represented by Ricardo Esgaio has just nine points and is six behind Antalyaspor, the first team in place.

The next game between the two teams is against this Sunday’s opponent, but this time in group A of the Turkish Cup, on January 13th.
