Jeremy Doku Injury Update: Guardiola Confirms Weekend Absence

Injured, Jeremy Doku is out of Manchester City’s trip to Nottingham this weekend. The Red Devil should, however, make his return to the Skyblues “soon”.

Jeremy Doku has featured in each of the first fifteen Premier League matches and the first six Champions League matches this season. A clear sign that the Red Devil has become an essential element in the eyes of Pep Guardiola.

In his best season since joining Manchester City, the left winger was injured in mid-December and missed the last two league matches, at Crystal Palace and against West Ham.

“He is out against Brentford, that’s for sure. I don’t know exactly when he will come back, maybe in the New Year. It could be during the match against Sunderland on January 1,” Pep Guardiola said about him two weeks ago.

Jeremy Doku soon to return to Manchester City

Before that, Manchester City travel to Nottingham Forest this weekend for their final encounter of the calendar year. On this occasion, Guardiola gave brief news of Jeremy Doku, during his update on the infirmary.

“Rodri is much, much better. John Stones and Jeremy Doku are not ready yet, but they should be soon,” said the Spaniard. No big news then, but confirmation that the 23-year-old has not relapsed, that Pep Guardiola is taking all the necessary precautions, and that his return should take place as soon as possible.
