Jayden Daniels Injury: Season Ends for LSU QB

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels’ season is over.

According to information from NFL Network journalist Ian Rapoport, the Commanders will not take any risk with the health of their star player and will end his campaign with three games remaining in the regular season.

Daniels aggravated a left elbow injury during his last appearance on the field on December 7 against the Minnesota Vikings. The 24-year-old was not in uniform Sunday against the New York Giants and had not been cleared by doctors for Saturday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Due to the numerous injuries suffered by Daniels this season, the Commanders (4-10) prefer that their young quarterback focus on his rehabilitation for next season. In addition to the left elbow injury, Daniels also missed two games with a sprained left knee and another with a hamstring injury. He played in just seven games this season after starting every game in Commanders last season, leading the team to the playoffs after a surprising 12-5 regular season. The 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year, Daniels has eight touchdown passes and 1,262 air yards in seven games this season.
