Cruzeiro Secures Podium Finish, Coach Jardim Reflects on Season’s Turning Point
Belo Horizonte, brazil – Cruzeiro has officially clinched a spot on the podium in the Brasileirão, a meaningful achievement that coach Fernando Diniz highlighted as a testament to the club’s resurgence. While a championship title remained elusive, the team’s consistent performance throughout the season, culminating in a third-place finish, has ignited optimism for the future.
“We would have liked to win today, but we managed to be on the podium,” Diniz stated, acknowledging the draw that sealed their fate. He emphasized the rarity of such consistency, noting, “In recent years, only Palmeiras had had regularity on the podium. I even think that after 2014, it is the only top 3 that we have. May this podium be an objective, an ambition, in terms of the future, because the people of Cruzeiro deserve it.”
This podium finish marks a significant turnaround for Cruzeiro, especially considering the team’s challenging start to the season.Diniz pinpointed a pivotal moment that shifted the team’s trajectory: the period leading up to crucial matches against São Paulo and Bahia.
