Jan Minx: 5th League Star Eyes Promotion | Football News

I have to say that the autumn went quite well for me. I was in good form and I hope to build on those performances in the spring. I played well, so I’m glad that the readers voted me the best player of the regional championship. They deserve a big thank you for that.

So the nomination from coach Havlíček didn’t surprise you?

The coach already told me somewhere in the middle of autumn that I was in good shape and that he hoped I would keep it up. I think I somehow confirmed it until the end, either with goals or assists. I don’t want to sound stupid, but I wasn’t surprised, I felt like I did really well.

You led the voting process almost from the very beginning. Have you followed the interim poll results?

I didn’t have to watch her at all. To explain, I teach at an elementary school and almost every hour I received information from the students about how I was doing and how many votes I had. In fact, I personally did not follow the poll at all.

Competition is good for Minx

It’s your most goal-scoring season since playing in the men’s categories, and you’re only halfway through. Is there satisfaction in this direction as well?

It’s true that in previous seasons I didn’t have as good numbers as I have now, and as you say, we’re only halfway through the season. I’m really happy that I’m doing like this, and I hope that there will be some more goals and assists. It will be important that I avoid injury and illness.

See who the readers voted as the best player of the 5th League of the South Moravian Region.

You have scored nine goals so far. Have you set a goal that you would like to achieve at the end of the year?

Jan Minx (27 let):

  • Position: Left wing
  • Jersey number: Eleven
  • Number of goals this season: Nine
  • Number of goals in the 2024/25 season: Seven
  • Previous workplace: 1. FC Slovácko, Zbrojovka Brno, FK Blansko, FC Zlínsko

Probably not, the main thing is that the whole team does well. After that, it doesn’t matter who will score the goals, because when I looked at the overall statistics, we don’t have any leader in the scorers’ table. With the offensive players, we somehow divided the goals between us. If I don’t score even once in the spring and we win, I won’t mind at all. The main thing for us is that the second half of the season is better than the first from the team’s point of view. But if I add some more goals, I will of course be happy.

Boskovice-Letovice significantly strengthened before this season, for example, players from the third division Blansko came. Has the arrival of higher quality helped you in your performances, or on the contrary do you benefit from increased competition?

I am honestly very happy that it was finally possible to strengthen the team with players from higher competitions. I even know all the new guys personally, because we worked together in the youth categories of Zbrojovka Brno.

Viktor Kučera from Lipůvka is the best player of the autumn district championship in Blanensko.

It is better that some competition appeared in the team. Suddenly, no one has a certain place in the foundation, and that is a big motivation for me personally. It was like that in previous years, we somehow knew that we had a certain place. In some seasons we were even happy when there were thirteen of us and it was supplemented by teenagers. Now we have a wide squad and I think it will continue to be seen.

Coach Havlíček mentioned to Blanenský deník that you were already in good shape last winter. Then some illness came and it was difficult for you to get back. Can you tell me what was bothering you?

I have a certain health problem that makes me prone to illnesses, especially bronchitis. I’m hoping to avoid it now as I transition from winter to spring. I already lay down during the last match against Kunštát, so I hope I have already recovered from the illness and will be healthy in the second half of the season.

Does he still want to play somewhere higher? For now, he is loyal to the Boskovices

As far as statistics are concerned, you also did well in numbers. Did someone contact you with an offer for a higher competition?

I don’t know about anything, nor do I honestly think I’m going anywhere right now. This season I definitely want to continue in Boskovice, because we have something started here and I want to finish it.

After all, you are already playing for Boskovice for the fifth season, in the past you tasted the third league. Would you be interested in trying it somewhere higher?

I would like to play in a higher competition, but as I said, I am happy in Boskovice. In addition, I have a workplace nearby, so several conditions would have to come together to somehow convince me.

You mentioned that you teach elementary school. In what way can it be combined with football in the 5th league?

It doesn’t limit me in any way, because I’m at work until half past three and we have training until the evening, around five or six o’clock. I am at almost every practice when I am physically fit.

They haven’t given up the fight for the title in Boskovice yet

You are in fourth place in the table behind your competitor from Ráječek, your goal was to get thirty points, which you failed to do. You probably won’t be happy about that, right?

“After two unsuccessful matches, we won 4-0, and I also managed to score a hat-trick, for which the whole team deserves credit, because all those goals were scored after beautiful actions, and the mood in the cabin improved,” said Jan Minx after the match with Moravská Slavia Brno, in which his team won 4-0 and scored a hat-trick himself.

We already said it in the cabin, we are not satisfied. A lot of matches got away from us because we actually prepared ourselves for the victory. For example, we had a bad start to the match in Ivančice, where we trailed at ten, but we could easily win. With Ráječek, we again led 2:0 and lost 2:3, and those are the points that we then lack in the table. Therefore, we cannot evaluate this half of the season positively from a team point of view. On the other hand, we are not giving up and we want to fight in the spring because nothing is lost yet.

You lose nine points on the first Bystrc. Do you still have hope that the procedure could be successful?

Nine points may seem like a lot, but spring is always twice as hard as autumn. A quickie can somehow hesitate and lose points. On the contrary, we can do well, get closer in points, and suddenly the situation will be different again.

If I remember a few years back, we also led by about five points, we didn’t do well in the spring and finished about fifth. That is why I am optimistic in this direction. The end of the season isn’t until June, and that’s where the points will finally be tallied.
