Knicks are shooting 60 percent from the field
Brunson can’t be stopped: Magic miss out on a place in the Cup final
The New York Knicks are in the NBA Cup finals for the first time. The New Yorkers prevailed against the Orlando Magic 132:120 and were once again able to rely on an outstanding Jalen Brunson.
The All-Star guard scored 40 points (16/27 FG) and handed out eight assists, as did OG Anunoby (24 points, 8/13) and Karl-Anthony Towns (29, 8 rebounds). Jalen Suggs (26, 10/16, 7 assists) was outstanding for Orlando, but the development player had to leave the field injured in the fourth quarter. Desmond Bane (18, 7 assists) and Paolo Banchero (25) had their moments, while Tristan da Silva (0, 0/5 FG) failed again. The Knicks will now face the winner of the game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs in Las Vegas on Wednesday night.
At first everything was pretty even, the Magic tried to attack Brunson again and again and did so quite successfully. The Knicks guard still scored efficiently on the other side, and both defenses initially had very little success (both teams had a hit rate of over 60 percent in the first twelve minutes). For Orlando, Suggs had ten points in the first quarter, the Magic led 36:33.

Suggs is injured after a strong first half
However, the second unit was a problem, while the Knicks’ Tyler Kolek and Mitchell Robinson turned the game around with his offensive rebounds. Brunson continued to get into the zone at will and had 25 points at halftime. But Suggs also had the same result, catching the Knicks defense in a deep sleep several times. New York still had a rate of 63 percent and went into the locker room with a score of 71:64.
