Jakobi Meyers: Jaguars $60M Extension

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed wide receiver Jakobi Meyers to a contract extension Thursday. According to sources close to the matter, cited by Adam Schefter d’ESPNthis contract amounts to 60 million dollars and binds him to the team until the 2028 season.

The deal includes $40 million guaranteed, sources told Schefter.

The Jaguars traded their fourth- and sixth-round picks in the 2026 draft to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for Meyers on the Nov. 4 NFL trade deadline. Meyers, who has 27 receptions for 355 yards and three touchdowns in six games with the Jaguars, was expected to become a free agent at the end of this season.

The arrival of Meyers has considerably energized the Jaguars’ offense and its quarterback, Trevor Lawrence. Since his arrival, the Jaguars are 5-1 with an average of 31.8 points per game – the second highest total in the NFL, behind the Los Angeles Rams (34.0) – and Lawrence has thrown 14 passes for majors.

Meyers has caught 453 passes for 5,299 yards and 23 touchdowns in his career, which began in 2019, when he signed as an undrafted free agent with the New England Patriots. In four seasons with the Pats, he accumulated 235 receptions for 2,758 yards and eight touchdowns before signing a three-year, $33 million contract with the Raiders in 2023.

With the Raiders, Meyers caught 191 passes for 2,186 yards and 12 touchdowns in 38 games.
