In his Instagram Stories, Jake proudly shares images of Jutta’s race, with the caption: ‘So proud of you, warrior’. The skater recovered during the OKT and finished second with a time of 37.24 seconds. “I wanted to show, also to the KNSB, that I have the level. That turned out well,” Jutta responded with relief afterwards.
A day earlier things went wrong at her favorite distance, the 1000 meters, where she fell and burst into tears. Her Olympic participation seemed uncertain at the time, but thanks to her strong performance in the 500 meters, a ticket for the Games in Milan now seems within reach.

Jake, who closely follows her during the OKT, reacted emotionally immediately after the fall. “I know how hard she works and how well she skates. It’s just very sad,” he said Show news. He especially hoped that she wasn’t in pain when he saw her fall.
In the reality series Paul American Jutta already hinted that after the Games she may hang up her skates and start a new life in the United States with Jake. Her fiancé especially can’t wait for that next chapter.
