Indonesia Women’s Badminton: SEA Games Final Bound | INP

Inp.polri.go.id – Bangkong. Indonesia advanced to the women’s team final at the 2025 SEA Games after a narrow 3–2 victory over Malaysia in a tense semifinal at Thammasat University’s Gymnasium 4 in Bangkok on Monday (8/12/2025).

The match went the full distance before rising singles player Mutiara Ayu Puspita sealed the decisive point, defeating Malaysia’s Siti Zulaikha 21–18, 21–16.

“I just wanted to carry the responsibility of playing the fifth match well. We’re the same age, so there was pride involved,” she said afterward, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Indonesia opened strongly through Putri Kusuma Wardani, who dominated Karupathevan Letshanaa 21–9, 21–10. Malaysia equalized via women’s doubles as Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum fell to Pearly Tan/Muralitharan Thinaah. Gregoria Mariska Tunjung’s defeat in the third match put Indonesia behind 1–2.

A convincing win by Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari brought Indonesia a level before Mutiara delivered the final breakthrough.

Indonesia will face host nation Thailand in the final after its 3–0 win over Singapore.
