In the match which took place on Monday (8/12/2025), the national team surprisingly lost with a score of 0-1.

This means that the Philippines, which previously beat 0-2, is certain to qualify for the semifinals.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian U22 national team must compete for the best runner-up spot to advance to the semifinals.

No wonder, this puts the U22 national team at risk of not qualifying.

“If I say we have to believe, yes, we have to believe and we have to, once again the same, we have to have a dream that we can still win the SEA Games,” said the figure who previously led the U17 national team competing in the 2025 U17 World Cup.

Apart from having to win against Myanmar in the final match of Group C, the Indonesian U22 national team also has to rely on the Malaysia vs Vietnam match in Group B, which will be played this Thursday (11/12/2025) afternoon.

Vietnam is currently in the top position of the best runner-up standings.

If Malaysia vs Vietnam ends in a draw, the Indonesian U22 national team will certainly be eliminated, because the four points owned by Malaysia or Vietnam, who are runners-up, cannot be passed by Garuda Muda.

Meanwhile, if one of the two loses, then the opportunity for the Indonesian U22 national team to reach the semifinals remains open.

The condition is that the Indonesian U22 national team must be able to win over Myanmar and be superior on goal difference, because both will have three points.

“Never care about anything,” said former assistant coach Shin Tae-yong.

“Because I am sure they have all given their best and hopes in our last match, regardless of the results of the matches from Vietnam and Malaysia,” he continued.
