Indonesia won a gold medal in tennis for the women’s team team SEA Games 2025 after beating Thailand, 2-1.
In the third or deciding match, the pair Aldila Sutjiadi/Janice Tjen, who faced the pair Mananchaya Sawangkaew/Peangtarn Plipeech, performed solidly.
The chase for points continued since the first set. Indonesia was trailing 0-1, then turned ahead 2-1, then Thailand equalized again to 3-3.

Having been ahead 5-3, Aldila/Janice conceded in the match at the National Tennis Development Center, Bangkok, so the score became a draw at 5-5.
Finally Aldila/Janice were able to lock in a 7-5 win in the first set. The pair who won the 2025 Chennai Open title really fought fiercely.
Behind in the first set, the Thai pair played bravely in the second set. One point is immediately earned. However, Aldila/Janice were not provoked and were able to equalize the score at 1-1.
As if they didn’t want to lose outright, the Thai couple was more insistent. This makes the match more intense. Indonesia even fell behind 4-5.
Aldila/Janice then turned things around to 6-5 in a fierce duel. With high fighting spirit, Aldila/Janice secured victory and gold with a score of 2-0.
Aldila/Janice’s victory meant that Indonesia won a gold medal in the women’s team tennis at the 2025 SEA Games, after the two singles events ended in a 1-1 draw, on Saturday (13/12) morning.
In the first match, Indonesia was trailing 0-1, but managed to equalize 1-1 by Janice who appeared as Indonesia’s second women’s singles player, in a match that lasted three sets.
