Almugera Kabar (19) is on the move at Borussia Dortmund. Numerous rumors have emerged in the past few days about the left-back, who has only played a serious role in BVB’s second team so far, but has shone there recently. Hamburger SV is now also new in the raffle.
As “Bild” reports, HSV is interested in Kabar. This is about a permanent change for the Bremen native. There has already been contact. The goal is a transfer in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Kabar was part of the U17 national team in 2023 that won the World and European Championship titles for Germany. At BVB, however, there was initially no breakthrough. The 19-year-old was only granted one starting eleven and four short appearances in the Bundesliga – and that only in the last season. This season he had an exceptional autumn in the Regionalliga West. From the second half of September to the end of the year, Kabar appeared ten times for the BVB reserves as a left-back. He managed five goals; four own goals and one assist.

According to “Bild”, there is a real chance that he could try his hand at HSV in the Bundesliga in the future, although FC Brentford, a Premier League club – along with other English teams – is also an issue. A recent report in the “Ruhr Nachrichten” also reported interest from one or more Dutch and Portuguese clubs.
When Kabar made his first five Bundesliga appearances in the 2024/25 season, he benefited from the personnel situation at Borussia Dortmund, but was also shown another perspective by sports director Lars Ricken at the time. However, there were no further steps towards the professional squad. He was only called up to the matchday squad on the first and third matchdays. Kabar is said to have submitted a change request in October.
