Horsens Badminton: Art from European Championships Finds New Home

Horsens Badminton Club is happy to have a lasting impression as a reminder of a very special event in Horsens, and is looking forward to the next one – namely the Badminton WC for teams in the spring.

During the Badminton European Championships in Horsens this year, Horsens Municipality’s urban life effort MÆRK Byen helped create various popular cultural activities around Forum Horsens and in the city centre. As part of those activities, a large street art project was created in front of the Forum during the days of the EC.

Three giant works of almost 5 x 5 meters each were created as a live painting event in collaboration with Galleri Grisk. The artist who was selected to leave her artistic mark on the EC badminton is called Pil Anna Tesdorpf, but goes by the stage name ‘PILAT’.

The theme was ‘women in sport’ and with the three large works, PILAT had a marathon of live-painting during the whole week, as she created three different styles/expressions, but all with a focus on women in badminton.
