Bavaria’s Honorary President Uli Hoeneß is a guest at the fundraising gala “A Heart for Children”. The 73-year-old announces a six-figure donation.

Generous gesture from Uli Hoeneß! The honorary president of FC Bayern spoke at the Bild-Gala “A Heart for Children” announced a donation of 160,000 euros.

“I didn’t come empty-handed,” said the 73-year-old during the event ZDFbroadcast and revealed: “I collected money from the club and from the family.”

Hoeneß then explained that his family would donate 60,000 euros and “FC Bayern Hilfe eV is giving 100,000 euros”.

But that wasn’t all. There will be ten seats available in the Bayern Munich box for FC Bayern’s second half game in the Allianz Arena.

Early championship? “Don’t want to get arrogant”

Hoeneß was also asked about the club’s fantastic sporting situation and asked by moderator Johannes B. Kerner whether the date for the championship celebration in March or April had already been set. After all, the Munich team are still unbeaten after the 13th Bundesliga matchday and are eight points ahead of second place RB Leipzig.

The honorary president replied with a smile: “No, we don’t want to be arrogant.” He added that the Munich team had taken “an important step” with the 5-0 win against VfB Stuttgart on Saturday afternoon because “it was a difficult game after the exertions of the past few weeks”.

At the same time, Hoeneß expressed his optimism that FCB will win their second championship title under coach Vincent Kompany: “If our injuries are like [Jamal] Musiala und [Alphonso] Davies comes back, I’m confident for the German championship.”
