HK Malmö Draw: Intense Handball Summit | Sydsvenskan

HK Malmö was behind for basically the entire match away to third placed Hammarby. At least until minute 58. Then the guests took the lead with 30-29 in the summit. But the home team equalized and also took the lead with six seconds left.

It smelled like another Hammarby win in Eriksdalshallen. But not. Nikola Roganovic was quick in the return and found a countering Felix Montebovi who grunted the equalizer in the last second.

– He is incredibly fast, incredibly talented and it’s really nice that he gets there last, says six-goal scorer Hugo Stuivers in the Handball League’s webcast.

It looked worst for HK Malmö in the middle of the second half. The team then trailed by six balls while Nikola Roganovic went for a push in a jump, landed badly and had to be looked over by the medical team.

But without their star, the team recovered from the deficit and equalized with only minutes left to play.

– We have two really bad starts in the first and second half. But we work our way past it, solve it backwards and Ebbe [Håkansson] gets saves. Then we get the balls there a bit, says Hugo Stuivers in the Handball league’s webcast.

HK Malmö thus became the first team to take points away from Hammarby during the season.

The team now faces a break in matches until the beginning of February. But handball continues despite that.

– We will practice a little New Year’s tomorrow. It will be fun. Then we are going to Kuwait and have a training camp, so it will be full swing, concludes Hugo Stuivers in the Handball League’s webcast.
