The lucky ones who received the Croatian forward were the students of the school adapted for people with disabilities at the Mater Immaculata school; from the wheelchair basketball school in San Sebastián de los Reyes; and the socio-sports school developed in the Hortaleza first reception center.
The player joined the sessions as another partner, sharing exercises, games and conversations with the participants. His attitude generated a motivating environment and allowed boys, girls and young people to enjoy an enriching experience in which basketball was a tool for coexistence, learning and fun.
Transmission of values through sport
The adapted basketball schools of the Real Madrid Foundation They are a line of care for people with motor, intellectual and sensory disabilities, which encourage the transmission of values through sport. Within this framework, in 2013 the program of socio-sports wheelchair basketball schools was launched, with the aim of offering a quality sports activity to children with disabilities who do not always find spaces adapted to play basketball.
