Men’s team manager Stevie Grieve has established his management staff, in addition to a vacant position.
When we now enter a new phase, we do so with a new management in the men’s team. Our manager has been putting together his staff for some time, who have already been working together for the past few weeks.
– Shortly after I was ready for HIF, we put the staff in place after very positive talks with everyone involved. We hoped to have Max Lindén with us as well but treat him to a head coaching assignment at the same time as it gives ourselves the opportunity to expand the leadership staff with other types of top skills, says the men’s team manager Stevie Grieve and explains how he works with the new staff with scouting and recruitment:
– With my background as a coach and football worker in several countries, I have managed to establish many contacts along the way. In most of the clubs I have worked in, scouting and recruitment processes have been part of my work. Through this I have developed not only a methodology for identifying players but also established and developed contacts in various markets.
– We work with a mixture of technical scouting where we check how good the player is and data scouting where we evaluate what a player actually does and how it fits into our team. We would like to develop that part further. Sometimes we will use agent contacts to try to access desirable young people from different markets. There will be some exciting transfer windows where we will try to act in a way that gives us the opportunity to compete to get back to the Allsvenskan.
Below are presented the staff and key people who will spearhead the operations around both the men’s and the P19 team.
Analyst
To take the next step in development, the staff will be expanded by one more person compared to before: an analyst.
– We want to recruit a coach/analyst who will support us in match preparation, individual player development and streamline our time by having a person who is dedicated to producing concrete and useful insights for both players and staff. We will recruit this person in the new year, says Grieve.
Alexander Tengryd
Alexander Tengryd, who was presented last autumn as the new head coach for the P19 team, will be part of the staff as an assistant coach. His role also includes working with scouting together with the manager and other scouting networks.
He holds the highest possible coaching license, UEFA Pro, and has broad experience in both leadership and coaching, player development and scouting. On his merit list, he has assignments as head coach for IFK Göteborg, national football developer at the Swedish Football Association and Head of Coaching at Odds BK.
After his years in IF Brommapojkarna, HIF, Trelleborgs FF, the Swedish Football Association, IFK Göteborg and Norwegian Odds BK, Alexander contributes both competence and routine, leadership and an expanded network in the Football Nordics.
In recent weeks, Alexander has helped Stevie Grieve with player scouting, a collaboration that both appreciated and wanted to deepen by working even closer together in everyday life.
Sven Andersson
Sven Andersson continues his mission as assistant coach with a focus on the goalkeepers in the men’s team. With his competence, experience and overall responsibility for, among other things, planning and logistics, Sven is highly appreciated by Stevie Grieve as well as other managers, players and not least the men’s team’s goalkeepers.
Hans Eklund
When Alexander Tengrid was hired as the new head coach of the U19 team, it was to further sharpen our five star player education by having a UEFA Pro qualified coach who has extensive experience in coaching and leading senior players at elite level. Since Alexander will now be part of the men’s team’s staff, Hans Eklund, former development manager, will become the new head coach for the P19 team.
Hans has tremendous experience and competence after his years as head coach in both the Allsvenskan and the Superettan and abroad. During the past year, he has also been a transition coach and thus acted as a clear link between the academy and the men’s team for newly promoted players. This further strengthens the bonds between our men’s and U19 teams, which we hope will benefit the development of our academy players.
Boriero Linen
Lino Boriero has been responsible for materials since 2015 and will continue in that role. In addition, he helps and contributes to the well-being of the players both on and off Olympia through, among other things, administrative support.
Markus Lönninge
We warmly welcome physiotherapist Markus Lönninge to Helsingborgs IF. The 45-year-old comes most recently from a role as medical manager at Umeå FC, where he has been for five years. Skåningen has spent parts of his upbringing in the USA and has also lived in both Norway and Umeå where he trained as a physiotherapist at Umeå University. For three years, he has also worked at the orthopedic clinic at Norrland University Hospital specializing in knee injuries.
Marcus Linner
Physiotherapist Marcus Linnér leaves his post and chooses to move away from Helsingborg for personal reasons. He came to the association ahead of the 2021 season and has been both a competent and valued colleague, whom we would like to see remain in HIF.
– First, foremost and most importantly, I would like to extend a warm thank you to all the people I had the privilege of working with during my five years at this fantastic club – you who together make up Helsingborgs IF. The medical team, physical trainers, materials, management staff, the office and of course all the players over the years. You have not only done an amazing job, but also made my own job both easy and fun. Something I never took for granted and always felt grateful for. Five years ago I had the honor of stepping into my first A team assignment, and for the last two years as a manager. I feel a sense of pride in what we have achieved and the foundation we have laid. Much of the work that is done is not always visible to the outside, but it is a foundation that will continue to develop and I am convinced that it will take Helsingborgs IF where the club belongs. The decision to now move on was made based on my personal situation. Thank you for these years and good luck in the future at HIF, says Marcus.
We thank Marcus for his time at HIF and wish him luck in the future!
