Winner of the U17 age group: Lovis DetersJust a few days after the German championships, many athletes traveled to Mülheim an der Ruhr to take part in the international tournament in the U15-U19 age group. The high sporting strain of the last few weeks was noticeable on the athletes, so that some of the top German athletes had to miss the event due to illness. Otherwise, there was a good mix of European players, top German players and many German players in Mülheim, some of whom gained their first experience on international soil. Top Asian athletes, like those we have seen in recent years, were absent this time.
In the U15 age group, Lucia Wang (Tura Nieder Höchstadt) with her partner Lea Diehl and Romy Oliva (Tus Schwanheim) with Leonie Euteneuer, as well as Atharva Himanshu Gupta (Tus Schwanheim in mixed doubles with the same partner, reaching the quarter-finals in doubles and mixed doubles, respectively, were the most successful starters. In the U17 age group, the U15 player Helena Huang (TV Hofheim) made it again After initial difficulties, Lovis Deters (Tura Niederhöghstadt) played her way through an excellent tournament and was able to win the title in both the semi-finals and the final without losing a set. In the U17 age group, Jarno Deters (BV Maintal) entered the tournament alongside Jakob Sjöblom and played their way to the semi-finals. They won in the quarter-finals against the finalists of the German championship, against whom they had lost out just a week earlier.
