Gyokeres: Beyond Goals – A Full Assessment

Jakarta

Viktor Gyokeres hasn’t scored many goals for Arsenal. The Swedish player was asked not to be judged by the number of goals alone.

Gyokeres was the decisive factor in Arsenal’s victory over Everton. The goal at Goodison Park last weekend was scored by the former Sporting Lisbon player from the penalty spot.

In 20 matches with Arsenal in all competitions this season, Gyokeres has only scored seven goals. This number is clearly far from the expectations of Arsenal fans.

Gyokeres Arsenal brought in from Sporting Lisbon at a high price. The ransom reached 62.4 million pounds sterling.

Former Manchester United player, Wayne Rooney, believes that Gyokeres is important for Arsenal. He is said to be able to open up space for his teammates even though he still lacks goals.

“He played more than you saw. Even (on Saturday), he troubled the two centre-backs (James) Tarkowski and Michael Keane,” said Rooney on Sportskeeda.

“It creates a bit more excitement for your team’s number 10 or your winger who is cutting inside.”

“I think he is important for Arsenal. He is doing a job that helps other players, he just hasn’t scored the goals you would expect from him,” he added.
