The Scottish Premier League giants are trying to sign Greenwood. |
According to Foot01 Nome, currently based in Saudi Arabia, are willing to spend up to €100 million to sign Mason Greenwood in the 2026 summer transfer window. Given this amount, the former England international could become the most expensive signing in the history of the Saudi Professional League, surpassing the record of Neymar, who moved to Al-Hilal for 70 million euros.
If the deal goes through, Manchester United will receive a large commission. Previously, the Red Devils included a clause in the contract giving them the right to 40-50% of Greenwood’s transfer fee if Marseille sold the player to any other club.
The €100 million price tag is believed to be justifiable for Greenwood as the striker is only 24 years old and still has plenty of time to play at the highest level. Additionally, the former Manchester United player’s impressive form at Marseille is also a factor behind Greenwood’s transfer fee being so high.
Greenwood has been involved in 17 goals (13 goals, 4 assists) in just 20 appearances for Marseille in all competitions this season. The Manchester United-released striker proved his quality this morning (December 10) with an impressive solo effort to finish off his attack with a goal in his side’s 3-2 win over Union SG in the Champions League.
In addition to his excellent finishing ability with both feet, which he demonstrated while playing for Manchester United, Greenwood is gradually developing into a versatile striker. The 2001-born player also interacts well with teammates and moves flexibly both on the flanks and in the middle.
