Midweek commitment for the girls of Gea Basketball Grosseto who, in the postponement of the seventh day of the first leg of the Serie C championship, will visit the stadium on Thursday 11 December at 9.15pm Virtus Sienaon the parquet of the Pala Vivaldi. For Luca Faragli’s girls this is a particularly demanding commitment, given that the local quintet leads the standings, together with Pallacanestro Femminile Firenze, with 10 points, the result of five victories and one defeat. The girls are coming off two bad defeats against Florence and Polisportiva Nicola Chimenti Livorno; in these ten days they have worked studying the mistakes made and looking for new solutions in view of the next two releases within 48 hours. In fact, on Saturday at 6pm, Gea will receive a visit from Pallacanestro Femminile Pisa. The objective of the red and whites will mainly be to play an excellent match in Siena, and then seek the victory, which is not easy, against the Pisans, in a match that can relaunch the ambitions of the Grosseto team in the playoff zone.
«An almost impossible task awaits us – says the coach Luca Faragli – against a team that hinges on Claudia Barbucci, a twenty-nine year old who has also played in Serie A. We will go to Siena to try to take as few as possible and maybe learn something good for the rest of the season». The red and white coach will have to do without captain Martina Borellini, Federica Cipolletta and Alice Panella, while Francesca Benedetti and Daniela D’Antoni will be on the scoresheet with only one weekly training session in their legs.
