Specifically, the Israeli army carried out an attack this Friday in a school in Gaza City and killed five people, most of them children, according to a statement from the local civil defense. The school center is located in the northeastern area of the city and was used as a hostel for displaced people.
Arguing that they are supposed to be “immediate threats”, Israeli troops have killed Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since last October 10, with a total death toll that the Gaza Health Ministry raised to 395 in its latest official count this week, to which must be added the five deaths on Friday. For its part, the Israeli army wanted to make it clear in a statement that its troops “identified several suspicious individuals in the command structures west of the Yellow Line” in the north of the Strip and, then, “fired on the suspects to eliminate the threat.”
The Palestinian note emphasizes that the civil defense teams and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs “completed the recovery of five bodies”, in addition to a number of wounded that has not yet been determined, in the neighborhood of Al Tufah, according to Efe. In fact, he points out that the “majority” of these fatalities would be creatures. For its part, Benjamin Netanyahu’s army, accused of genocide for its actions in Gaza, says it is “aware of the information about casualties in the area and the details are under review”. And he still adds that he “regrets any harm to people not involved and works to mitigate the damage as much as possible”. Instead, according to Gaza, it is a “serious violation of international humanitarian law” and the violation of the ceasefire. Thus, he has again urged the international community and the UN to protect civilians and guarantee the safety of shelters and humanitarian personnel. According to the Islamist side, the Israeli army would have even blocked the arrival of ambulances.
Since the war started by Netanyahu in response to the October 2023 Hamas terrorist attack, more than 70,000 Palestinians have been killed. Most were civilians, and in fact 20,000 children have died.
