The need to provide this information arose after the events that took place in the last part of the match our Men’s Basketball Team played against Bursaspor on December 6th and afterwards were reported in the press.
All actions regarding the former Galatasaray captain and now Bursaspor player Göksenin Köksal, who cursed our team’s bench and our managers towards the end of the match and said “Galatasaray is my home” after the match, will be taken before the Turkish Basketball Federation.
On this occasion, we would like to remind that; Galatasaray legends became legends not only when they wore this glorious jersey, but also with their attitude when they took it off.
Additionally, after the match, our team bus was stoned at the exit of the hall, endangering the lives of our athletes. These attacks were made not only against Galatasaray, but also against the reputation of Turkish sports. There is competition on the field; But it is never possible to accept swearing, hatred and violence.
Our club will take the necessary steps to hold those responsible for the matter accountable.
