Gabriel Clemens Darts: World Championship Win 2024

The German darts professional Gabriel Clemens has reached the third round of the World Cup and can compete again at Alexandra Palace in London after Christmas. Clemens won 3-0 in the afternoon against the favored Dutchman Wessel Nijman and made it into the round of the best 32 for the fifth time. His greatest success was reaching the World Cup semi-finals in 2023.

“Basically, you always expect that of yourself. It was good of me. Maybe a little bad on the doubles, but otherwise I had it well under control,” said Clemens on the streaming provider DAZN. Nijman definitely had his chances. β€œIn the second set I decided straight away that it was good for the head,” added the German.

Pietreczko and Schindler are also further along

The 42-year-old from Saarland showed a strong performance and kept his nerve in the crucial moments. When Nijman missed three arrows on double eight in the fifth leg of the second set, the path was clear for Clemens. The former German leader has had a difficult year, but is now heading for great success at the World Cup. He showed both fists to the crowd at Alexandra Palace after the victory.

Pietreczko won 3-2 against the Englishman Dave Chisnall in a darts thriller. It was enough for German leader Schindler to win 3-0 against Irishman Keane Barry. Round three begins on December 27th. The last German before Christmas will be Arno Merk playing against Scotsman Peter Wright this Tuesday (4:30 p.m. CET on Sport1 and DAZN).
