Gabriel Arias Leaves Racing: Emotional Farewell

With an emotional message published on his social networks, Gabriel Arias said goodbye to Racing. After a cycle of seven and a half years, 254 games and six titles, the Chilean put an end to his time at the Avellaneda club. In this sense, and given the interest of clubs like Newell’s and Defensa y Justicia, #1 took the opportunity to say goodbye.

The message of Gabriel Arias

Saying goodbye is never easy, especially when it’s time to leave a place where we were very happy. If someone had told me when I was little that I was going to be a Racing goalkeeper for seven and a half years, I wouldn’t have believed them. But they say that dreams are meant to come true and I had the privilege of making them come true: I was captain and champion in a club that marked me as a professional and as a human being. What else can I do then than thank all the people who helped me get here?

To my wife, my children and my family, who were by my side in every beautiful moment and in every difficult day. To Víctor, Diego, Chacho and Fer Gayoso, who in mid-2018 bet on me to defend the goal of a giant club like Racing.

To Licha, Iván and Leo Sigali, the first three to welcome me and make me feel like I belonged at home. And, of course, to all the footballers with whom I had the privilege of playing in all these years: I cannot thank you enough for everything you have helped me grow.

Arias stopped being a Racing player.Arias stopped being a Racing player.

To the assistants, the medical staff, the technical staff and the club workers, for having been at the forefront of the day-to-day work so that we could give ourselves to the maximum.

And to the fans, the great protagonists of this story, who showed me their love throughout this time and with whom I shared moments that will remain forever in my heart. I leave calm for having put in all my work, all my demands and all my commitment to always take Racing to the top. Thank you, thank you very much, for everything we experienced together!
