FST Waalwijk: Youth Badminton Diploma Success

WAALWIJK – The youth members of badminton club FST Waalwijk received their badminton diplomas last Thursday, December 11. This concerned all youth players aged 12 years and older, who have recently worked on their technical and physical skills within the BAMITO youth program of Badminton Netherlands.

The diplomas are part of the association’s national training program, which focuses on the development of young badminton players. Ten different exercises were used to assess whether the players had made sufficient progress. Components such as service, footwork and various basic strokes were examined.

Technical skills assessed

During the diploma moments, the youth players performed exercises such as the clear, drop shot, block and smash. Moving across the court and correctly executing strokes also played an important role in the assessment. The exercises are aimed at teaching players to play badminton better in a structured way and at providing insight into their own growth.

Youth trainer Thijs Emmerik guided the youth during this process and personally presented the diplomas. The efforts and development of the players were thus officially recognized.

Positive ending in De Slagen sports hall

The presentation took place in the De Slagen sports hall in Waalwijk. Afterwards there was room for a joint photo in the hall of the sports facility. Many youth members took advantage of this, which made for a festive and relaxing moment.

With their diplomas in hand, the youth players of FST Waalwijk look ahead to the next training period, in which they will continue to work on technique, insight into the game and enjoyment of the sport.
