French Ski Federation: Harassment of Braisaz-Bouchet Condemned

The French Ski Federation wanted to react to the highly commented statements of biathlete Lou Jeanmonot, who denounced this Friday the death threats aimed at the daughter of his teammate Justine Braisaz-Bouchet.

“The FFS expresses its full support for Justine and her loved ones, and stands by their side to confront these unspeakable acts,” wrote the Federation in a press release published on

“None of this behavior has its place either in sport or in society,” said the FFS regarding the harassment suffered by Braisaz-Bouchet. “The FFS reaffirms that no attack on probity, mutual respect or the psychological security of the collective can be tolerated,” added the body.

A “tenable situation” for the president of the FFS

“I find it rather healthy that Lou is speaking out to defend her in the face of very violent reactions on social networks,” said the president of the FFS, Fabien Saguez, from Val d’Isère where he attended the giant slalom counting for the Alpine Ski World Cup on Saturday. There is no reason to go too far on these subjects. »

“Of course the situation is tenable,” continued the leader. The staff is experienced in managing athletes. It’s not the easiest situation, but they have all the support to ensure that the group is strong and delivers results like it is doing at the moment. »

The French biathlon team will start the women’s World Cup relay this Saturday at 2:15 p.m. in Hochfilzen (Austria). Returning to competition after her three-month suspended sentence for having fraudulently used Braisaz-Bouchet’s bank card, Julia Simon will not be lined up for this race.
