Brother Moritz Wagner is also still injured
Wagner’s fifth season in the NBA began in October. In the first third of the regular season he was one of the best players for the Orlando Magic, who are currently in fifth place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 14-10 (as of December 8, 2025).
The 24-year-old has always been on the field in the 24 games played so far and was his team’s most successful thrower this season with an average of 22.7 points. In addition, the leader of the ambitious franchise achieved 3.7 assists and 6.1 rebounds per game.
He will now join his brother on the sidelines for the time being. Moritz Wagner is currently missing due to the consequences of a torn cruciate ligament, which he suffered in December 2024 and therefore missed the European Championships.
Franz should at least be spared a similar scenario – although the Florida franchise still left the downtime of the team’s most successful point collector open.
“His return depends on how he responds to treatment,” the club said.
