Football & Fairness: $80K Grant for Youth Project

The league of fair football, which combines sport with education for respect, cooperation and responsibility, will receive eighty thousand crowns from the Karlovy Vary region. Children and young people will have the opportunity to spend their free time meaningfully.

“There are currently seven teams in the Karlovy Vary region, consisting of boys and girls aged 9 to 24, who meet regularly, participate in tournaments and joint training sessions,” described the regional spokeswoman Veronika Svobodova. An integral part of the project is the work of social services, which support the transfer of the principles of fair play to everyday life.

“Children and youth from different parts of the Karlovy Vary Region participate in fair football, often from an environment where there is a risk of social exclusion or risky behavior. That is why we greatly value cooperation with organizations that work with children on a long-term basis and help them find the right direction.” added the councilor for social affairs Ludmila Vocelkova (Again).

From the regional subsidy, it will be possible to rent premises and football fields, as well as travel expenses for clients and social workers, and last but not least, sports equipment and rewards for the players involved.
