Vitão, in fact, already had an agreement in place with Cruzeiro. Now, with the change of scenery, Flamengo needs to align the last details directly with the player to complete the signing.
Internacional had rejected Flamengo’s first proposal, made at the beginning of the year. In the new attack, however, Rubro-Negro considerably improved the terms: in addition to forgiving Inter’s debt relating to the signing of Thiago Maia, the Rio club committed to paying the remaining value of the negotiation in cash. In total, the transaction is worth around 10 million euros, around R$65 million.

Colorado bought Thiago Maia in July last year for 4 million euros (approximately R$21.6 million at the time), with payment paid in ten installments. However, no installments have been paid to date. With corrections, the current debt would be around 4.7 million euros, equivalent to R$30.6 million.
The defender has been a name monitored by Flamengo since the beginning of the season. In the first attempt, the club offered 6 million euros (around R$37.4 million), in addition to debt relief for Thiago Maia, a proposal that ended up being rejected by Internacional. Now, with higher values and payment in cash, the deal has progressed and could be completed soon.
