Flamengo Revenue: President Announces Billion-Dollar Boost & Future Plans

President of
Flemish“>Flemish
Luiz Eduardo Baptista, known as Bap, gave exciting statements to the red and black fans this Tuesday (23). In a meeting with club members, held in the main hall of Gávea, the director announced revenues exceeding R$2 billion in 2025 and sent a “message” to rivals.

In addition to revenue of R$2.071 billion, Bap revealed that Flamengo has recurring revenue of R$1.4 billion. In other words, even if Rubro-Negro has a season without titles in 2026, the value exceeds, for example, the budget of Palmeiras — the Rio team’s main rival at the moment —, estimated at R$1.2 billion.

Faced with this scenario, Bap did not hide the fact that intends to spend even more on reinforcements in the next transfer windows. The president sees the Rio club with the potential to become, according to him, a “monster of the Americas”.

“What happens if Flamengo doesn’t win anything this year (2026), the house collapses? We earn R$1.4 billion. Palmeiras’ budget with everything in it is R$1.2 billion. So we have the stamina and muscle to go for much more”, declared Bap, who continued:

“We have an absolutely healthy cash flow, a growing result, a margin above 30%. That’s if we don’t win anything. If we win again, we’ll go to a 40% margin, and more conditions to invest in the business. Flamengo will become a monster in the Americas from an economic point of view.”

Bap’s first year as president of Flamengo ended with four titles: Carioca, Brazilian Super Cup, Brasileirão and Libertadores. In total, the Rio club raised R$ 375,744,130.00 just in awards for achievements. The amount exceeds the amount spent by Fla on signings during the season by almost R$70 million: R$309 million.

Bap skewers rivals

The red-black president also poked some rivals by stating that, in the coming years, Flamengo will be the only club in Brazil that will not have adhered to the SAF (Sociedade Anônima do Futebol) model.

“I believe that in 2029 the only one that is not a SAF will be Flamengo. I see many managers playing the club in a lenient way, to worsen the result and say: “Look at Flamengo, how am I going to compete with these sons of bitches…? Only if you become SAF. I have an investor, and to your delight I am here to be the CEO of SAF. This is happening in several clubs in Brazil”, he concluded.
