Loaned by FC Barcelona to AS Monaco until the end of the season with an option to purchase last summer, Ansu Fati could already leave the princely club this winter.
Ansu Fati’s sensational debut in Monaco is already in the past. Author of six goals in his first five appearances with AS Monaco, the 23-year-old winger has since largely returned to normal. The Spanish international has only started twice in his last nine matches in the red and white colors: October 22 against Tottenham (0-0) and November 22 in Rennes, a meeting which ended in a heavy defeat (4-1).
Fati, injured in the ischio, has missed the last three Monaco matches
During the last three matches, Ansu Fati has not been called up by Sébastien Pocognoli, the fault of an ischio injury which lasts, and for the moment prevents the player from finding real continuity. What, already, annoys the management of the princely club? According to information from journalist Romain Molina (in a message published on his X account), the situation would be quite simple: “Monaco already no longer wants Ansu Fati (what a surprise…)”.
It remains to be seen what comes next for the man considered a prodigy when he started at FC Barcelona, but who has never been able to confirm the expectations placed on him since the start of his career, due in particular to numerous muscle injuries. Ansu Fati, on loan from FC Barcelona to AS Monaco until the end of the season with an option to purchase, has as a reminder extended his contract with the Catalan club until June 30, 2028 at the time of the movement between the different parties.
In the coming days, the case of Ansu Fati could liven up the winter transfer window, especially if Barça were to highlight a desire to give him a chance to establish himself in the formation coached by Hansi Flick, which counts on many players offensively. Could a break in the loan take place? The near future will tell, especially if AS Monaco were to break the silence.
