A new episode in the unrest around section South 1 of Ajax. The hard core has to miss De Klassieker against Feyenoord, but does get the valuable scan point. The measure follows the abandoned match against FC Groningen.
During the match against FC Groningen, fireworks were thrown from section South 1 in the Johan Cruijff ArenA, after which referee Bas Nijhuis stopped the match. Ajax already intervened hard by keeping the entire box empty, but still accommodates the fans. Everyone with a season ticket is allocated the valuable ‘scan point’, as is known Supporters association. Season ticket holders on South 1 have to scan eleven times to keep their place.
The club acknowledges that many fans were not involved in the fireworks incident. In fact, an emergency door was broken open, allowing supporters to enter without a card or with a stadium ban. More has also become known about the compensation for the Ajax fans who were present at the match. Ajax previously announced that all supporters would be compensated, but the method is now known. Ajax players who were present have received an email and can request their money back. You can also opt for a voucher for the fan shop. If fans choose to do so, Ajax will increase the amount by ten percent.
