Ericsson to Rosenborg? Häcken Boss Confirms Interest | Allsvenskan

This weekend, the Fotbollskanalen revealed that Häcken’s football manager Martin Ericsson was in Trondheim to visit Rosenborg and that he is very much in the running for the job as sporting director Mikael Dorsin’s replacement.

After that, the parties appear to have taken steps towards a joint future. At least Ericsson is described as Rosenborg’s main track by sources like Fotbollskanalen and Adresseavisen spoken to. They further state that negotiations regarding the Swede’s possible contract in the Norwegian big club have taken place.

Rosenborg hopes to be able to reach an agreement with Ericsson, the Fotbollskanalen learns. But in an interview with Göteborgs-Posten, which was published earlier on Thursday, the protagonist states that he has not yet made his decision whether to leave Häcken or not.

Ericsson does not want to say anything about Rosenborg specifically, but confirms to GP that he has “concrete interest from elsewhere” to take a position on.

– There is quite a bit of time left in the year and I feel that I don’t want to sit with this for too long either. But it is a pleasant situation. I’m at a great club and nothing about it has changed. For me, it’s just about evaluating the situation when I can and have the opportunity, says Ericsson to GP.

The football manager admits that the option outside Häcken that appeared to him is something he “values” and thus “interesting enough”.

When Ericsson decides whether to extend his expiring contract with Häcken or leave for Rosenborg is unclear. He says to GP that the future will be clear “relatively soon”.

Häcken’s club manager Marcus Jodin has been clear that they want to keep Ericsson, who has received a proposal to take a position on from his current club.

Rosenborg finished seventh in the Norwegian top league this year. They are trained by Swedish Alfred Johansson.

On Thursday evening, Häcken played 1-1 against AEK Larnaca in the Europa Conference League, which means that the team has no opportunity to progress from the league game.
