Endrick: Real Madrid Exit & €1.2M Palmeiras Deal

Endrick said goodbye to Real Madrid this Saturday. The 2-0 victory over Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabéu was the Brazilian striker’s last game as an athlete for the Spanish team, even though he was not even involved (he was suspended for a red card in the duel with Celta de Vigo, on the 7th of this month). At least this season, as he is on his way to Lyon, who agreed on a short loan until the end of the 2025/2026 season.

The 19-year-old player is expected to report to Lyon on January 1st. He chose the French club because he understands that he will have space in the team and will continue, in the evaluation of the athlete’s staff, to play in a competitive league.

At Lyon, he will wear the number 9 shirt and is confident that he will have many more minutes on the field compared to his journey at Real Madrid. Coach Xabi Alonso passed him over, so Endrick made just four appearances for the team under the Spaniard’s command, only one of them as a starter. In the French club, the contract stipulates that he will have at least 25 appearances in the starting line-up

Endrick’s short career at Real, to which he hopes to have given one soon, yielded millionaire bonuses for Palmeiras, although the amount was considerably below the stipulated maximum amount.

He leaves with three contractual triggers that, together, provide for the transfer of 955 thousand euros (R$6.2 million) of the possible 12.5 million euros (R$81 million). This represents 7% of the total.

7 goals for Real Madrid: 245 thousand euros (R$ 1.3 million)

9 games as a starter: 675 thousand euros (R$ 3.7 million)

1 penalty conceded: 35 thousand euros (R$ 193 thousand)

In the loan to the French team, only two contractual triggers remain active that could benefit Palmeiras. Both are individual awards: winning the Golden Boy, awarded by the Italian magazine Tuttosport to the best player under 21 in European football; and the Kopa Award, which is also given to the best U21 athlete, but by France Football (the same as the Ballon d’Or). If he wins one of them, Endrick will earn another 1 million euros (R$ 6.4 million, at current prices) to the team that revealed him.

If he returns to Real Madrid, the player has until June 2030 to complete the clauses set out in the contract.

In Brazil, Endrick reached all the goals for the bonus, which involved the number of goals scored, call-ups and starting in the Brazilian team.

The boy was bought by Real Madrid in December 2022, for a fixed amount of 35 million euros (R$199 million at the time). The Alviverde club was entitled to 70% of the amount, while the attacker and his family kept the remaining 30%.

Adding the fixed amount and bonuses, the transfer has generated, to date, approximately R$278 million for Palmeiras.
