Eintracht Frankfurt is experiencing a sporting crisis. Now there is a scandal in the club. The club is taking tough measures in its medical department. An important employee has to leave. There is a special reason for this.
As if the sporting crisis wasn’t bad enough. After the 0:6 at RB Leipzig this weekend there is alarm at Eintracht Frankfurt. The defense, the midfield, the attack – all parts of the team have enormous problems. And in the middle of it all, coach Dino Toppmöller, who is coming under increasing criticism.
But it’s not just the team that is currently a construction site, the chaos is now radiating across the entire club. Up to the medical department. As “Bild” reports, team doctor Dr. Fabian Plachel thrown out.
What had happened?
The 35-year-old orthopedist not only treated his own players in the away game against 1. FC Heidenheim at the beginning of November (1:1) on match day in the Frankfurt team hotel very close to the stadium, but also treated a professional from the opponent in Mathias Honsak. Without knowledge of unity.
Plachel has been working for Eintracht Frankfurt since 2022
Some Frankfurt professionals had seen the Heidenheimer as he was making his way through the hotel corridors – and were extremely irritated. In the end, Eintracht had no choice but to fire Plachel, who had worked for the club since July 2022. As an internal replacement, Dr. Sebastian Schneider, who already acts as team doctor, will take over Plachel’s leading role.

The medical department has been criticized this season. Accusation: too big and too expensive. In addition, there were only a few muscle injuries at Eintracht in the past, but now they are increasing. Kristensen, Højlund, Larsson, Uzun, Burkardt – top performers are always out for long periods of time for precisely this reason.
And there is another fundamental problem related to the team around the team: Many employees increasingly focus on their own self-interest and forget why they are actually there: namely to help the players.
All of these problems should be addressed in the near future.
