The Municipal Sports School (EDM) of Archery of León has organized a day of “Initiation to the competition”, framed within its program of recreational-educational activities. The event will take place on Saturday, December 20, from 10:00 a.m., in the CHF Archery room.
The main objective of the activity is for school students to become familiar with the competitive field of this sport. According to the organization, the day will focus especially on indoor and outdoor competitions, although other existing tests will also be explained depending on the arch modality, always under the regulations of the corresponding Federation.
Rules, judges and scores
During the session, participants will work on key aspects of an official competition, such as appropriate behavior during testing, the role of the judge, the value of points according to the type of target, shooting and rest times and the correct procedure for recording scores on the scoreboards. It will also address who should make such annotations, how to claim a questionable score, and what actions are allowed or prohibited during the results recording process.
The practical day will be carried out through two rounds of eight series of three arrows, which will mean a total of 48 scoring arrows, in addition to the training arrows, which will consist of three series of three arrows each.
