[Reuters]- Jack Draper (24, Great Britain), ranked 10th in the world in men’s tennis, announced on the 26th that he will miss the Australian Open (OP), the first Grand Slam tournament, next January due to an arm injury.

Draper withdrew from the second round of the US Open in August due to a bone bruise in his left arm. He is currently recovering and aims to return in February next year. The BNP Paribas Open, where consecutive victories will be on the line, is coming up in March.

“Unfortunately, my team and I have decided not to compete in the Australian Open this year. It was a really tough decision,” Draper said in a video posted to X. “This injury has been the most difficult and complex of my career. I look forward to returning to action in 2026.”
