Corinthians coach Dorival Júnior vented after the 1-0 victory over Cruzeiro, this Wednesday (10), at Mineirão, in the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil. The coach said he does not care about the criticism he has received, especially due to the poor results in Series A of the Brazilian Championship.
“The important thing is that you trust yourself. Human beings know how to criticize. They criticize those who don’t have the ability to create. We’re here to work. If people don’t understand processes, I’m not the one who’s going to explain. I’ve been through all our difficulties here. I didn’t want to give Corinthians 13th place. We had good performances, but the result didn’t always come. Keep criticizing, let’s keep doing it our way, with simplicity. Trying to play. It’s the sixth semi-final I’m participating in, thank God. You can continue criticizing, for me, it doesn’t matter”, said Dorival at a press conference.
The Corinthians coach reinforced the difficulties he faced during these months at Corinthians and lamented the lack of results in some matches in the national league.
“It was a (Brazilian) championship of longevity, we lost many elements throughout the competition. Our team was assembled a year ago, it’s a period of development and no one understands that. No one. Those who are in football know. I’m trying to do my best, we had N difficulties, I tried to explain. Many pretend to understand, others belittle, so for me it doesn’t matter what it did. The second semifinal clash is scheduled for next Sunday (14), at 6pm (Brasília time), at Neo Química Arena. To advance to the decision, Timão needs a simple draw in the second leg.
Whoever advances between Corinthians and Cruzeiro will face in the decision Vasco or Fluminense, who will duel in the other semi-final starting this Thursday (11).
