During the year 2025, which only has a few days left to finish, the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), through its Community Guidance Department (DOC), carried out nearly 200 sports activities, in each of which they provided supplies for sports such as basketball, volleyball, among others.
All of this includes the expansion of its multi-use field renovation program, as well as the celebration of its sports festival, which includes sporting and recreational events.
Colonel RafaelCucho” Abreu, who directs the Community Orientation Department of the anti-narcotics organization, explained that in addition to donating sports equipment, the DNCD included preventive talks on the use of drugs in each event. controlled substances.
“With these activities, the DNCD impacted more than 300 thousand children, young people and adolescents throughout the national territory,” added “Cucho” Abreu.
He highlighted the firm and determined support for the programs implemented by the DOC by the president of the DNCD, Vice Admiral José Manuel Cabrera Ulloa (ARD).
According to “Cucho” Abreu, more than 80 social, cultural and sports institutions were integrated into the activities of the DNCD and a large number of them benefited from the rehabilitation of sports facilities, such as courts for basketball and volleyball practice.
“In addition to controlling and prosecuting drug trafficking with strong hands, the DNCD works and guides young people so that they understand that drugs are a path that we should not travel,” said Colonel Abreu.
He said that during 2025, the DNCD organized basketball, volleyball, chess, badminton, dominoes and recreational activities events.
“Vice Admiral Cabrera Ulloa attaches great importance to the preventive role that the DNCD must play,” he said.
He added that since his arrival at the anti-drug agency, Vice Admiral Cabrera Ulloa expressed his interest in carrying preventive activities throughout the national geography.
In the implementation of its activities, the DNCD receives the support of institutions such as the Ministry of Sports and Recreation (Miderec), among other entities.
Sports and Recreation Festival
Colonel Abreu highlighted that throughout the year, the DNCD, through the program it directs, continued with its sports and recreational festival.
