Hans Kraay Jr. would consider it an ‘absolute top performance’ if Dirk Kuijt still manages to reach the play-offs with FC Dordrecht. The analyst said this in an interview with ESPN. Kuijt’s team is currently in fourteenth place in the Kitchen Champion Division, six points behind in the promotion/relegation play-offs.
Will Dordrecht still manage to reach the play-offs? “That would be an absolute top performance from Dirk Kuijt,” Kraay answers. “That may sound strange to most people, because Dordt has reached the play-offs with two fingers in its nose in recent years.”
“But that was under Michele Santoni a few years ago. With players like Ilias Sebaoui and Antef Tsoungui, who he got from Feyenoord,” Kraay continues. “Last season, Melvin Boel had received the high-scoring Jaden Slory and the high-scoring Devin Haen from Feyenoord and he had Jari Schuurman at ten paces.”
Kraay then points out that Kuijt now has Feyenoord mercenary Stéphano Carillo at Dordrecht. “And that is not a very good striker,” says the analyst. “Everyone is now criticizing Kuijt, because he has had his head rebuilt and I know a lot of things he has done, but he really cannot do anything about this. He really has a very, very, very, very, very mediocre team.”
