+++ Leni Feindler twice on the podium +++
On the second Advent, three Dillenburg badminton players found their way to eastern central Hesse, where the last district ranking tournament of the year took place in Stadtallendorf.
On Sunday morning (December 7th, 2025), two podium places were celebrated after Leon Turschner and Jan Eilers – who started in an age group higher at U19 due to a lack of participants – reached third place with two wins and two defeats. In a mixed club pairing, Leni Hilfer, who competed together with Felicitas Schöll (BV Gießen Hoppers), achieved second place after two wins and one defeat.
The individual matches continued at lunchtime with group games, which for the boys served to qualify for the knockout round. Leon Turschner was initially able to win his preliminary group, but then failed in the semi-finals and later did not get past fourth place. Jan Eilers narrowly missed the knockout round and took 8th place later in the tournament.
In a heterogeneous group, Leni Stiefler had to deal with two strong opponents and two that she could confidently beat. The difficult games ended in a close or three-set match to enemy’s disadvantage, so that she was still able to climb the winner’s podium for the second time that day with third place.
