Del Nido: No Sevilla FC Share Package Deals

He Sevilla FC is immersed in the process of selling the large shareholding packages that control the entity. If the only offer that has appeared on the scene was that of Antonio Lappí and Fede Quintero, as the first confirmed after the last shareholders meeting, now the president, José María del Nido Carrasco has ruled out the possibility that the current board would seek the arrival of an investment partner to buy one of those share packages that would give him representation in it.

“Sevilla FC as a club has not considered the option of an investment partner acquiring a part of the share capital,” said Sevilla’s top leader in an interview with Palco 23, in which he also did not propose a possible listing. “Our strategic plan does not contemplate it,” Del Nido Carrasco indicated about this possibility that other clubs such as Cádiz have done.

own Lappishas reported by ABC, last April discarded the offer to become part of the current structure of the entity as vice president and joint CEO. Lappí’s idea, and for which he presented an offer that valued the entity at 320 million euros, was to acquire a majority package of shares and not to enter with the current managers.

This possibility is not being raised now by Del Nido Carrasco with the hypothetical entry of an investment partner, but rather Shareholders have been receiving proposals from groups that seek control of Seville from the purchase of large shareholding packages. The main one, an investor from the United States, would already be analyzing the entity’s accounts to formalize this acquisition proposal, although Sevilla has more interested groups.

While these movements that would affect the command position take place, the leaders have continued to seek financing through the credit of 178 million euros signed at the time with Goldman Sachs. “We have executed it faster than what we set, which was three years,” Del Nido Carrasco himself acknowledged in Palco 23, where he has once again influenced the economic restructuring process with which Seville intends to put an end to five years of balance sheet losses this year.
