Del Grosso: Courses with Women & Content Writing Approach

Tibor Del Grosso looks back on his victory in Heusden-Zolder. He explains why he consciously approaches his preparation differently.

Preparation and physical points of interest

After his victory, Del Grosso emphasizes that his back remains a point of attention. He refers to previous comments within the team and indicates that he takes that signal seriously. “That was apparently a thing,” he tells Het Nieuwsblad.

He explains that he has now sought guidance and is carrying out his exercises meticulously. According to him, this weak spot mainly occurs in heavy cross-country races, but in Heusden-Zolder it was not a hindrance.

Early exploration with the women

Del Grosso regularly chooses to explore the course earlier than his male colleagues. He joins the women for this, because it gives him extra margin in his preparation. “I would like to have a little more time for my match.”

According to him, this approach offers him peace and space to complete his warm-up in a structured manner. “That’s why I often do my exploration with the women, so that I have more space to do nothing for a while.”

The victory in Heusden-Zolder has a clear meaning for him. He emphasizes that he was specifically aiming for a TV cross. He indicates that this was one of the few opportunities to win such a match and that the result motivates him.

“I’m glad I’ve already succeeded,” he concludes. According to Del Grosso, the bar is now particularly high. “Then I have to beat Mathieu and that is still a level higher.”
