So the final teams are also ready on the men’s side where Danderyd Djursholm ETK beat Lidingö TK and Fair Play knocked out Solna TK in the semi-finals. At the same time, we congratulate Lidingö TK on the SM bronze.

It was packed in Lidingö Tennishall when the semi-finals on the men’s side were to be decided on Saturday.
Two Swedish-Finnish doubles started in the first match between Danderyd Djursholm ETK and Lidingö TK. Jakob Amilon/Harri Heliövaara won the first set 6-3 in the doubles against Patrik Niklas-Salminen/Isac Strömberg and looked to be heading for an important win. In the second, however, the game turned and DDETK played their way to a decisive match tiebreak, which they eventually won 12-10.
– We had a pretty tough start to the match. Even in the second set we were broken in the first game. We rubbed it on and eventually it turned around. It was a good match from me and “the Finn”, says Isac.

Niels McDonald, who won the French Junior Open this year, faced Lidingö’s Eric Ahren Moonga and made it 2-0 for DDETK as he won 6-2, 6-4 after solid play.
Leo Borg and Michael Minasyan had the chance to decide the match and it would be the latter. Just seconds after Borg lost to Sandro Kopp 7-6, 4-6, 4-10, Minasyan hit the match point against Simon Freund – winning 6-4, 6-4 and DDETK could celebrate its first final.
– It was up and down both on my track and Leo’s. When things went well for him, things went well for me. We somehow got it together in the end, so it was fun, says Michael and continues:
– Crazy fun! We are old pals, Me, Leo and Isac, who have been around for a long time. I took inspiration from the doubles where they won sick balls and carried the momentum into the singles.

Fair Play TK (three golds) and Solna TK (two golds) are the only teams that have won in the 2020s where the Malmö team has won the last two years. The teams met in the second semi-final where the opening matches went to match tiebreaks. André Göransson has finished playing for the Malmö team (holiday) and Hannibal Borg and Giovanni Oradini were therefore pitted against Tom Noltorp and Mick Veldheer in the doubles. Here, Fair Play TK took the lead after a very exciting match that ended 5-7, 6-2, 12-10 to Fair Play TK.

There would also be a win for the Malmö team in the third singles. In a sometimes quite heated match, William Rejchtman Vinciguerra finally won against Didrik Liljekvist with 6-7, 6-4, 10-6.

Antoine Escoffier against Viktor Durasovic in the first singles was the third nail biter of the match. The Frenchman won the first set 6-2 but the Norwegian came back and won the second 6-4 and also the match tiebreak 10-8. That was it, and the match between friends Karl Friberg and Olle Wallin was interrupted, where Wallin won the first set and Friberg led 3-1 in the second.
– I played myself into the match and tried to find ways to destroy the rhythm for him. It was not an easy task but I got it done in the end, says a happy Viktor Durasovic who flew to Stockholm early on the day of the match.

Team manager David Ekerot gives praise to the entire team.
– Enormously nice when it goes one’s way when it was so tight. I’m impressed with the boys, that they can perform so well in these situations is the best. It’s amazing to see. It probably helps that we as a club have been in this situation before, says David and looks forward to the final against DDETK on Sunday starting at 2 p.m.
– It will obviously be very tough. They beat a very good team in Lidingö. I didn’t watch much of their game today because you are so into yourself, but they have strong players so it will be a fight tomorrow.
