Czech Snowboarder Fall: Partner’s Condition & Injury Update

Choura had a fall in preparation before the opening part of the World Cup, when he injured his shoulder and knee. The doctors managed to put him together, with the help of tapes and pills he was able to advance from the qualification of the individual race. In it, he was eliminated in the round of 16.

Together with the Olympic champion Adamczyková, he advanced from the quarterfinals in Sunday’s team competition, but in the next round, he did not ride his snowboard on the hard track, landed uncontrollably on the slope after the jump and slid off the track. The race was interrupted for several minutes, members of the Czech team and doctors intervened with Choura, who took him to the finish area.

“It looked very good in the morning, the track was groomed, the riders were in a good mood, in training they both corrected the mistakes they made on Saturday. In a direct fight in the quarter-finals, they also defeated the victorious French from the individual races. But unfortunately, in the semi-finals, Kryštof ran into a very difficult obstacle when the competitors were passing under him, which sent him to the other side,” Marek Jelínek described the unpleasant moment.

“He lost consciousness for a while, he scraped his face, but I don’t think it did much damage to his body,” the coach, who together with the team went to see Choura at the hospital, believes that he will remain “only” with a light concussion.

Adamczyková then finished fourth with a loss at the start, the Czechs logically did not enter the small final, but it was crucial for the team that Choura was as healthy as possible.

Adamczyková also has bad experience with team races, having broken both ankles three years ago in Montafon, Austria, while kicking her snowboard to the finish line in the final.
