Czech Republic Wins Kutná Hora Christmas Tournament | Kosovo Defeated

The Czech team successfully managed the third duel at the Christmas tournament in Kutná Hora. After an unequivocal course, they defeated Kosovo 6:2 and got in the perfect mood for the final preparation before the flight to EURO 2026. Francisco Mikuš contributed to the victory with two goals and a very successful performance.

Due to the victory of Lithuania over Latvia, the Czech futsal players needed a victory to win the first place at the Christmas tournament in Kutná Hora. Marek Kopecký’s men got off on the right foot after him and from the beginning employed the goalkeeper Ramadani, who resisted until the seventh minute of the match. Francisco Mikuš got a shot with his left foot, which the goalkeeper of Kosovo managed to save. Subsequently, Francisca’s brother Joao prepared another shooting range for his sibling, which he was already able to use.

In the fifteenth minute, the guests managed to equalize. After a pass from the extended goalkeeper Ramadani, the Czech defense spread too much in front of Ramadan Alaj. The Kosovar captain guided the ball to the center of the field and beat Michal Hůla with a dagger from the edge of the ten-meter kick.

That was the only moment in the first half when the Czech goalkeeper, who said goodbye to Rapid Ústí in recent days, conceded. On the contrary, there were two more moments on the other side when Ramadani capitulated. One minute after conceding the goal, the Czechs accurately played a corner kick by Vnuk to David Drozd, and he made no mistake from the first. In the same minute, Francisco Mikuš followed it up with the second goal of the match, which was prepared for him by the irresistible incentive of Rhouil. It should be mentioned that Joao Mikuš was at the start of the straight event.

The Czech Republic was clearly the more active team in the first half. This superiority was confirmed by the lions in the second half, when they broke the opponent’s resistance in the middle of the second half with three goals in the space of two minutes. First, Adam Knobloch noticed the drawn Kosovar goalkeeper, whom he punished with a great lob.

Kosovo only played with six to seven players and the Balkans soon began to run out of steam. This was illustrated by the fifth goal, when Künstner went through the visitors’ defense without difficulty and, following a pass from Křivánek, Michal Holý, unguarded in the goal area, was able to clean into the open goal. The sixth goal was added by Michal Seidler, who together with Vnuk was able to successfully get the ball past the goalkeeper of Kosovo.

Even captain Ramadan Alaj didn’t spoil the celebration of the triumph of coach Kopecky’s players in the entire tournament, who burned the goalkeeper Hůla with a hard blow between the legs. The Czechs won 6:2 and got themselves in a very good mood for the Christmas holidays and the upcoming EURO, hosted by Latvia, Lithuania and Slovenia at the turn of January and February.

Michal Holý (Czech Republic player): “We managed the match very well. The tactic of playing with three foursomes worked, and it was also due to the busy schedule. We attacked the opponent and switched very quickly. Kosovo played with fewer players. I think this decided our victory, the opponent gradually started to run out of juice. We played some game situations like in Pilsen, so as not to reveal our cards before the European Championship. Despite a very demanding schedule, the tournament was successful for us and I believe that at the EURO we will go well prepared.”

Marek Kopecký (Czech Republic coach): “I am very happy that we ended the tournament victoriously. The players are now with their families, they are tired and worn out, and that is why we chose to play with three fours. The boys are still fighting for places, there will be no room for two players. We did not properly prepare for the tournament, I am pleased with how it turned out and also that we finished the tournament without injuries. We will have to decide on the final nomination only at the camp before leaving for the European Championship.”
